Why Trim Healthy Mama....

I am almost 30 years old and have been through my fair share of diet plans.  I have done low carb and weight watchers and I've done the get fit in 6 weeks programs I've tried cutting calories I've tried cutting fat I have tried many different things however nothing ever sticks, I get tired of drinking shakes to replace meals and depriving my body of the yummy fat carbs or good calorie food...I am not a rabbit!  Enter Trim Healthy Mama :) This pair of sisters have been through the same adventure they're just a little bit ahead of me in years...after decades (yes decades) of trying many different diets they decided to see what God's word had to say about eating *gasp* It amazes me how we as humans (myself included) always manage to remember to check God's word last when it's the first place we should look!  So what did they find?

The bible has a surprising amount to say about food!  I'm not going to spoil it because well you need to read the book yourself...you can find it here.  Basically, God made man and woman, He also created all food groups (not talking about nasty processed foods and refined sugar and carbs) but I'm talking about Carbs and fat mainly, because it seems to be a fad that if you have a certain blood type or you have sensitivity to certain things you should just cut them out.  However God created us to process carbs and natural sugar and so on, so it would make sense that we can eat them.  But they also noticed that any time food was mentioned in the Bible it was eaten in a specific way, like they didn't mix high fat with high (good) carbs and vise versa...so if I eat a meal with lots of protein and cook it in fat then I eat fewer carbs.  Really you just need to read the book. 

And that is the main reason I choose THM, I love that they have gone back to the bible to see what God says about food and used that to build this on.  I love that I don't have to give up foods that I love and that I can still eat pasta and I can eat rice and I can eat butter!  I am so excited for this journey and have made small steps to prepare for when we go full THM the beginning of February.  I have cut out soda and fast food, I have also been paying attnetion to the amount of food I eat and how often I eat.  Trying to get on schedule is the hardest part but I know that through the strength of God I will make it through this and I will become a Trim Healthy mama.  Won't you join me on this journey I am excited to see where it goes.

Only time will tell

So a large part of me (no pun intended) is totally scared to even attempt another "diet" I need a way to get my feelings out there but I don't even want to share this with anyone simply because well....what if I fail...AGAIN.  I have done so many diets over my lifetime that there's not even enough time to count them.  Some of them have worked for a time but there's always that moment where you stop the diet and gain a chunk of weight back.  I am praying Lord please give me the strength to make this one work!  Let me lose weight and be healthy and be able to play with my children and do things with my husband that don't include a screen of some sort!  So there it is...my plea....only time will tell.
